The solution is already in the soil

In an extensive interview,Roots Reset, our proven effective method to completely and naturally control invasives such as Japanese knotweed is explained in the magazine Garden and Landscape’s (in Dutch: ‘Tuin en Landschap’)Special on Japanese knotweed.

Below are some interesting quotes from interviewees in the article.

“The solution is already in the soil” says Ard Reijtenbagh of Soilwise. The company developed a method to deploy micro-organisms present in the soil against invasive exotic species. To do this, the soil is first enriched with a plant-based granulate, CleaRoot called CleaRoot, after which the soil is covered oxygen-tight. CleaRoot feeds specific microbes already present in the soil. As a result, these grow rapidly and consume all available oxygen in the soil. Within two days, the oxygen level is reduced to less than 1%. In the absence of oxygen, further fermentation of the knotweed’s roots takes place.

Bart-Jan Heideveld of Van de Haar Groep is enthusiastic about the method. “As a rule, 100% of knotweed is killed in one season, and that without digging up the soil. We therefore actually always deploy this method if the location lends itself to it.”

Knotweed specialist Matthijs Varekamp: “It is not the case that just anyone can order CleaRoot. It requires a precise working method and, moreover, we are driven by a green approach. The implementing contractor has to match that.”
